Operations Management

About This Course

The design and management of processes that turn inputs into final goods or services is referred to as operations management. One of a company’s key functions is operations.

Analytics and digitalization have transformed the way operations are handled in recent years. Whereas marketing concentrates on the product’s demand and finance supplies the product’s funding, operations actually manufactures and distributes the product or service. This Operations Management course provides the basis for understanding a company’s operations.

Our goal at the conclusion of the Operations Management course is to provide you with the fundamental skills required to critically analyze a company’s operating performance and procedures.

General management, entrepreneurship, investment banking (e.g., corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions), venture capital (e.g., appraising new business proposals), and management consulting all require this understanding (business restructuring improvement).

Unlike many foundational courses, we will be primarily concerned with “opening up” the black box and identifying what causes a company to “tick” – or, for that matter, “stop ticking.”

Because business operations vary so greatly from one industry to the next, Leex’s Operations Management course can only cover the essentials while providing the rest of the material via real-life case studies and a selection of themes that are crucial to understanding operations in a range of enterprises.

Leex’s Operations Management course provides an overview of operations management ideas, principles, issues, and techniques. The emphasis is on managerial procedures for efficient operations in both goods-producing and service-delivery organizations. Operations strategy, process design, capacity planning, facility location and design, forecasting, production scheduling, inventory control, quality assurance, and project management are some of the topics covered.

The topics are linked together using a systems model of an organization’s activities.
